CFB Esquimult
The RCN Patrol group has arrived back in New Canada, the ships will be docked at the base until spring so they can travel down the Northwest Passage back to their home base in CFB Halifax. The RCN mail ship HMCS Hero has joined up with the group to deliver the belated Christmas mail to the crews of the three ships. Once docked the Aircraft from HMCS Canada will be unloaded into Esquimults naval aircraft depot for maintenance and storage till the spring.

Military Officials from Chile, Brazil and New Canada are attending a conference at the Palace of São Cristóvão, to discuss the situation concerning this "Latin Alliance" that the ROD reported at the UIN security council. The Most Important Topics that is being discussed is.
1. Eurasian Empires involvement with the LA, and how many of their operators are in South America.
2. The Possibility of the Argentinian and Venezuelan Militaries taking advantage of the situation.
3. How to best deal with the LA once they reveal their military movement.
Seeing the need for a UAV onboard naval ships, the RCN selected the French made SEGAM Sperwer to serve onboard certain ships with the deck space needed to install the UAVs Launch rail.
HMCS R. B. Bennett refit program.
The progress on the ship is slow due to the new refit scheme. Originally it was supposed to have a Helipad on the rear deck, but with the news of the RCN acquiring the SAGEM Sperwer UAV, the helipad was painted over and the launch rail for the UAV is installed in its place. Making it the first RCN warship to have the capability of launching a drone. The ship is expected to be finished by late March and entered back into the fleet by April. the removal of the rear turret allowed us the opportunity to install a second MK 10 twin rail launcher in its place.

With the Conference concluded, the military officials from Chile, Brazil, and New Canada, return home. However due to the NC Army currently in the middle of a modernization program, they will not be available for deployment to South America. Instead, the NCAF will assist the militaries of the two South American nations in developing strategies to help their armies deal with the EE backed Latin Alliance should they become a military movement.
After a brief rethink, the original operational plan for the Sperwer UAV was dropped, in favor of its more potent role in providing us with a live TV feed of the Battlefield from the air. The RCN will began practicing, launching and recovery of the Sperwer drone once the Bennett is launched.
Ships that do not have the space for the Sperwer's launch rail, or are equipped with helipads will be issued with the hand launched RQ-20 Puma for the similar role as well, originally Saab AB had approached us with the Saab Skelder UAV, but was dropped out due to its price tag exceeding the RCNs UAV budget.
NCAF reforms
A Spokesman from the NCAF has announced today, the end of the practice of Purchasing Officer Commissions. Any officers who will have bought their ranks prior to this, will still keep them. A New NC Officer Program will be established in its place to produce more Effective leadership.
Following along the lines of the officers corps of other nations this new NC officers program will select Commissioned officers based on merit and combat experience from those who fought in the frontlines. they will visit the troops on the frontlines but briefly, before they have go to back to the C&C room to where their tactical knowledge and experience is best served there.

After a few months since the reforms began since the end of the Black Sea War, The NC Army has finished their modernization program.
All regiments has successfully performed maneuver warfare tactics, and got better training in the use of the RQ-11 Raven drone.
The new State of the Art Command and Control center is now fully operational and ready to be manned by better trained and competent officers hail from soldiers who fought in active service.
and our new Logistical system will ensure rapid response to all of the army's needs.
The other two branches of the NCAF will have their modernization completed later this year.
The RCAF will be receiving new jets to replace the old CF-18s upon the conclusion of the fighter competition, its only down to just 2 jets the F/A-18 Super Hornet, and the Eurofighter Typhoon. The F-35, and the Saab Grippin had dropped out of the competition.
The RCN is slowly starting work on fleet of new guided missile ships, mostly of the Charles F Adams DDG, Belknap CGs, and Albany CGs.

A live missile test, is scheduled to take place later this week off the coast of Nova Scotia, to test out HMCS Kanata's newly installed Missile systems, starting with the MK 10 twin rail launcher, aginest air targets with the RIM-66 Standard, and Submarine targets with the ASROC missiles, then its the MK 29 Box launchers firing Sea Sparrows at Air targets at short range. finally its the MK 143 ABLs turn to fire Tomahawk cruise missiles on surface and shore targets.
CoC Navy west of Greenlanddom.
Three of our sub are the area of the NC Naval test firing. One was tracking the group of ships from NC. The other two were the targeting & evading each other. First detected engine noises, occasional plane or helo. Then detecting missiles, but did not seem to be targeted at an SSGN, the SSN was not targeted either. Actual battle stations we called, 'THIS IS NOT A DRILL' was announced. Fortunately, the ASROCs were 15-20 NM away, more than two convergent zones away. Emergency messages were communicated over the CoC network. Tuli Naval Station command in Greenlanddom immediately called NC Navy HQ to alert them of the CoC subs in the area. Also communicated over NC communication channels. 4 F-4 Phantoms were scrambled transmitting the 'stop-alert' message. Two were armed, but only with AA missiles. The other two were just flying with drop tanks.
. The trailing SSN monitoring the NC Task Force surfaced, firing flare being 6 NM behind a patrol boat. It also started transmitting the alert that subs were in the area.
Keeping with your tradition of having your command as far away from the front lines as possible, are all your navy ships devoid of Commissioned officers as well? Which then brings me to your air force and naval aviation. In most countries.. Aircraft are piloted by officers. So if no NC officers are near the front line, then who flies your planes.. And before you tell me that is different, explain to me why air force and naval pilots do go into combat and Ground Officers do not go into combat?
Off the coast of Nova Scotia.
With the surprise sighting of a CofC submarine surfacing in the middle of a live weapons test, the Captain of the Kanata went into a panic and ordered his Battleship to quickly sail back to CFB Halifax for safety. While the escorting destoryers seeing the surfaced sub plotted an intercept course and radioed it to sail out of the test zone in a peaceful fashion.
RCN Atlantic Command in Halifax is furious over this incident. As this was the Kanatas first shakedown run after her long refit. Only to have a bunch of Greenlanddom subs just carelessly pop out of nowhere, during a live test of the Battleships ASROC missiles from her MK 10 rail launcher, we could have accidentally sunk one of them by mistake, luckily that did not happen.
A Warning will be issued to the CofC navy, asking them to stay away from all RCN live weapons testing areas in order to avoid a similar incident.
The CoC is appreciative of the quick response to cease the live fire exercise.
We have moved out of the area on the surface. Thank you.
The CoC will listen with great interest to avoid the tight area between NC and Greenlanddom for live fire exercises.
Thank you.
To answer Hoths question about who flys the aircraft both in the RCAF, and the RCN Fleet Air Arm, Its actually the NCOs who flys the planes, as once you become an Officer, your wings are relatively speaking "Clipped", but they still command the squadrons just on the ground at the C&C room, Officers in the RCN Fleet Air Arm command their squadrons from the Aircraft Carriers, otherwise they will use their experience to train fresh new pilots in a simulator, but the officer will never fly again.
This change came due to an incident in the 2020 Fighter Rodeo, where the RCAF commander at the time, recklessly flew his two squadrons taking part out ahead of everyone else to attack the targets for the final part of that competition by himself, we got disqualified and banned from future competitions as the result of that incident.
