I would smear some mud on those white star aiming points, if I were you.

Re: Pete's Place
Thanks very much to all of you. I appreciate it once again and I do enjoy posting here and seeing what you are posting as well.
As far as the stars on American tanks go, I chose to leave them on. I like the look of them on the somewhat drab OD background. I know some units got rid of the stars by either painting over or smearing some mud on them to make them less visible. I have some TDs that I will be working on that may not get the "star" treatment.

Re: Pete's Place
Thanks for the comments everyone!
Pete, with the work you do on armor, I’d love to see your work on a ship. It is awesome of GHQ to put those scribed lines on, it cuts down on so much time trying to get the angles and the width right. That’s what took me so long to do an Italian ship, I didn’t know they did that, and I frankly didn’t feel like dealing with it. I finally caved because I wanted to expand my collection, imagine my delight!

I painted the Chinese Aircraft Carrier,Liao Ning, for the GHQ catalog a couple years ago. It was a pretty big undertaking for me and took a long time to complete.
Here are some WIP pictures that I took as well as the model as shown in the catalog.

Excellent job Pete, really nice job on the shading and highlighting. I see you glue minis to finish nails for painting too, lol.

Thanks very much, Bill! I have been using finishing nails to mount my pieces on for a long time. I also save and reuse the nails as well.

Same here, I have a drawer of about 30 finish nails that must have about 10 years of primer on them, lol. I have some 6d, 8d and two 16d for larger GHQ stuff. I also use roofing nails for my 28mm stuff.

Holy smokes Pete! That's an amazing ship! You sure that's 1/2400 scale?

Thanks very much, Redleg! Yes it is 1/2400 scale but the detail makes it seem a bit larger.

Whoops, I just realized I had posted this particular German recon unit on here last year. Oh well.
