To the side we had some other displays set up. The ships of the Northern Force and Task Force 8.
Some models of Midway aircraft, the PBY is a WIP.
Some micro armor since tomorrow is D-Day
The museum was going to fly the TBM and FM2, but due to recent rain, the airfield was WAY too wet, so they just did engine runs.
Then it was our turn to put on our presentation, unfortunately I couldn't take any pictures while it was unfolding, because I was ship mover and question answerer guy, but I snapped a few shots before we put everything away.
Due to the size of table they give us, things are sort of cramped, but its still cool that they want us to do this and they want us to be part of the museum and want us to keep our stuff there on display. So thanks to them. Its always fun, especially when little kids ask a million question and you can tell they are going to go home and pretend to be fly an SBD made out of a box fan and broom handle, lol.
Thanks for looking!!! BACK TO WORK ON MY ACW!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where did you pick up the 1/350 scale planes from? Those would be a lot easier on my eyes when painting. I gave up on the 1/2400 scale planes. Too small for my 50+ year old eyes.
The Japanese planes are Hasegawa, and the American planes are Trumpeter. They are for 1/350th carriers. Each plane is roughly about 6-8 parts. They are all molded in clear plastic, so it’s a little bit of a pain to assemble them and see if you have everything lined up right, just make sure you have good light. I got some from the hobby shop, and the rest I ordered from Sprue Brothers.
