Always love the ships that come in! Look great! Makes you want to start collecting ships but I know I would mess that up. lol
ACW stuff is brilliant as well.

Thanks a lot Polish! Ships are always a lot of fun to paint, and to do a little research on the subject while working on it. I’m more than happy to share my techniques anytime anyone wants to start.

Fin.

I have three more CVEs to paint for Taffy Three, but I think next I'm going to paint Herrmann so I can finish up the Fletchers. I had my first ever near disaster with a Flight Deck Decal. For some reason, when I was sliding the backing paper out widthwise, the decal snagged and before I realized it, it folded halfway under itself flat. After lots of swearing and putting water on it to keep wet, and my wife asking how long until I'd be ready to leave for dinner, I spent about 10 minutes of very deep breathing and gently lifting with a wet 10/0 brush and managed to unfold it, with no tears and without stretching it. Pretty proud of myself, especially since I didn't have another deck for a different ship paint in measure 32/12A. Live and learn.

That's beautiful Bill! Is that Hermann in the background? I'm pretty sure he is admiring that magnificent ship! Don't forget to paint the hands on his wrist watch!

Lol, no no, that would be a 1/48th Japanese pilot for an airplane I just finished that will be going to the museum. I just need to finish the base on the pilot. The USS Heermann DD-532 was a Fletcher class DD, she was the only one of the Fletchers in Taffy 3 to survive the Battle off Samar. She was eventually transferred to the Argentine navy and decommissioned in 1982. Once I get her finished, I’m going to relearn the rules for Micronauts, so there might be some AARs coming once I do that.

Re: Bills stuff
Excellent work on the CVE! You did a great job with the deck decal too. I can't see any issues with it following the folding decal folding incident. It really looks great.
I look forward to seeing more of your painted ships. Also looking forward to any AARs you can post.
Thank you again for posting your pictures.

Printed out years ago, built most of em at some point or another, kind of lost interest because I don’t really play micro armor, I just like to paint and stare at them. Sooner or later I’ll learn the rules, I’m retired now, lol.
