Great job and appreciate the color references. Dry brushing is excellent, I have a bunch of Pz35s and 38s awaiting some light grey…

You like Iraqi sand much? Never used that one, will have to try it.

Thank you.

I do like the old Czech tanks - I think I have a couple of Pz38s for a German Armoured Train that needs painting.

Very much so. Currently it's my go to light sand acrylic paint.

As you'll have seen from the previous photos, whilst repainting the models for the Elefant unit I've also been painting these command buses and trailers. I bought them ? years ago from Armstrong Models before H&R acquired the range. I'm tempted to put Red Cross markings on one. I don't know if that was something they were ever used for but...

<edit> I found a Youtube video on the bus. It does mention it being used to carry medical supplies and as an ambulance. So there we go.

Anyway I used GW Teclis Blue for the windows.

Nearly finished. I just need to paint the tools on the Porsche Tiger and the driver in the SdKfz 9. After that, decals (where applicable) - German crosses and vehicle numbers.

Well the painting is finished. I, however, need to order some German crosses and vehicle numbers. So let's say 'to be continued...'

Plus a few more vehicles if I want to field (or at least have) a full company. Let's see: 4x Elefant, 2x MunitionsPz.III, and 4x SdKfz 9 Recovery.

<edit> I was wrong! I do have some suitable numbers (I-94s NB-105 & NW-105 - Black & White Turret Numbers respectively). So, I just need to order the crosses.

I did eventually decide to put Red Cross markings on one of of the bus/trailer combos.

Thanks!

Numbers added, crosses on order!

Looks like I've slightly mangled the top of '112'. I'll have to find a way to cover it up - a bit of stowage perhaps!

Nothing new painting-wise but these have been knocking around my work area for quite some time. So perhaps next?

Assorted Sturmpanzers - given the Sturmtiger's calibre I felt obliged to drill out the barrels.
Image

Towed 8.8cm PaKs - usually in 3 batteries of 4 guns each, but apparently 21st Panzer (in Normandy) was different. So...
Image

Just thought I'd point out that because the paks' storage boxes are quite wide, I have placed a full-height separating wall running down the centre of each box. Just noticed that the PaK 43 box has an errant PaK 38 hiding in it. The infantry element is the CHQ which is missing from the PaK 43/41 company.

One of my mates on Facebook said that putting the red crosses on the bus and trailer just made them better targets for the Russian Shturmoviks. I had to take a couple of photos to try and ease his worries. ;-)

1 Platoon of 4× Coelian
2× sWS mit 3.7cm FlaK

As close as I'm ever going to get to 'Beetle mania' or 'A Different Fab Four'. :D
The final photo is just to show off my current palette - the top off an old scented candle!

Back to the Elefants or at least their unit.

Ignore the Hanomags (different project). Two more 'funnies' for 653rd Heavy Panzerjäger Battalion: A Bergepanther with a flakvierling and a Flakpanzer T-34. The latter needs an armoured turret - rather like the wirblewind and ostwind.
Image

Whilst checking out my Panzer IIIs (not all my panzers are Panthers or Tigers) I found two that are missing their turrets. Hmm... 653 needs a few MuntionsPz IIIs. I wonder...

Hmm! Let's see:
  1. Looking od(d)
  2. Lookin(g) god(-like)
  3. Lookin(g) go(o)d
I prefer #2 but I expect you were going for #3 Although a lot of people I know might have opted for #1:-D
Great collection!
Thank you. It's coming along nicely. ;-)
