The only thing I've ever done with the "old" Tiger 1s was to burn 'em and crush 'em and rip off the tracks to give myself some satisfying battlefield wrecks.

Of course, other models have the option of removing the turret and having a gaping turret ring as part of the "battle damage". The old Tigers would look pretty silly if one tried to have a seperated turret, wouldn't they?

(And the extra credit point for all claiming to be "old guard" is: "Why would the Tigers look odd with their turrets off?"

Those T-34's on the bridge are absolutely gorgious. I too really like the way you weathered the bridge. Great work!

To All:

After seeing all of this great work, I'm tempted to throw my paintbrush away, and box up my Marines. Actually, this forum has given me a lot of inspiration in regard to my own troops. I hope when completed, my stuff looks half as good. Thanks for the great pictures.

Okay, I'll play your game.

I've never owned any old GHQ Tigers, but I'm guessing based on other old GHQ stuff I have owned that they are cast with the male stem for the turret on the hull, and the turret drilled out to fit it. The opposite of "conventional" practice. I still have a few old Daimler armored cars and M13/40 tanks in my collection that were made that
way.

Could you write what colors/paint did you use on those latest t34 ??? They look brighter than your previous USSR stuff.
I have just started experimenting with various paints and methods, but so far everything worked out too dark ...

Br,

Bartek
Sure - I use the techniques described here:
http://www3.telus.net/Ritterkrieg/paint.htm

with humbrol Matt 86 as the base color.

Thanks for the comments fellows.

OK, you have now earned one extra credit point. Congratulations. That, and $3.10, will get you a Latte at your nearest Starbucks!

How do you do the side-skirts on those Ritter?

Do you just use a thin piece of plastic card?

I saw a article in my buddies fine scale modeller this weekend were a guy partly scratch build a Tiger I. The sprockets where laser cut, and the engine meshing was photo etched. Crazy. I will post a picture as soon as I can scan it in. I have a sneaking suspicion it is one of the guys here. If it is well done.

Fairly simple stuff - scribe the detail on an appropriate - sized sheet brass using a dull x-acto blade. I bend and cut some panels for more realism.

The Tiges not me!
