Great work on all those ships, Foxbat! One of these days I will get back to painting ships myself.

Thanks, gentlemen.Done a few more ships, the Hiei and a few Kageros. The DDs are the first pieces of the recent haul I made : they were a bit damaged, tried to fix them the best I could.

Thanks Olfarty :)
While I'm at it, I just noticed there is a difference between these 2 models : GHQ makes both the Tone & the Chikuma. Looks like the left hand one is the Chikuma?

I left them soak in acetone for days, and it took me another whole day (allowing glue to dry) to strip them and reglue them, completing missing parts with my spare bits box (and using evergreen rod to replace Chikuma's crane). Now on to painting!

Foxbat,

I think you are correct that the model on the left is Chikuma. I think the model represents a 1942 version and the Tone model is late war, 1945. So, the hull on the right with the heavy AAA guns on the stern section would make sense for late war time frame that the GHQ model represents. Models and painting work is looking terrific. Thank you for the posts!

It is nice that GHQ offers both the earlier and later version of certain ships. For the Pacific Theater, I generally am more interested in the early battles around Guad al can al in 1942-43 and others. I do, however, have some of the later versions of some of these ships as the models are so well done. Who knows, I may get some late war stuff painted one of these days.

Thanks. I'm posting now the 1st batch of my recent catch

Chikuma, Nohiro & Yahagi, and a Fubuki I retrieved from my 1/72 stash (what was it doing there, who knows? )

The whole lot

The Murakamo

The Chikuma
Some parts were missing, but thankfully I still had what was needed to complete the model in my stash.

And the two Agano class CLs. My apologies, as the result may be a bit disappointing. Masts were missing, and I had to try to improvise a solution. I did what I could but, as you see, I'm not the greatest kitbasher in the world

First, the Yahagi (I suppose this is the late war version of the class?)

And the Noshiro (was the same model as my Agano, so I suppose it's the early version)

Thanks, gentleemn! :)
A very short post this time. Did a few ships I don't need (already have 4 Kongos, 2 Aobas, and 2 Tones in my collection, so I can't cram in another one from these classes  )
No bases, since whoever gets them will be free to do as they please in this regard.

Had to "repair" them, since they were from the lot I bought, and some bits were missing. Bit box can be of use, but it has its limits...

They look nice.
You did well.
I do apologize, need to sink the Tone, Aorangi and of course the Kongo!

Terrific looking models and painting job! Can't have too many GHQ models. Always good to have backups. Nice job! :D
