That really looks absolutely great! The small mosque in the lower left hand corner is one that is by Mainly Military I believe. GHQ used to carry that line many years ago.

Hey, question I have re: the practicality of elaborate urban terrain in a gaming scenario. Do you build your urban terrain to accommodate infantry stands? That is, build in places where the infantry stands can be placed on top to indicate the infantry is occupying the buildings, in places where you don't have flat-topped buildings? If not, how do you deal with that in-game? Just lean the stand up against the side of the building?
I find that I often sacrifice aesthetics for functionality. I’m working on a modular terrain system now and I have to compromise on how it looks. For example hills if they are done totally realistically the infantry cannot be positioned ½ way up or down the hill. Forest can’t be modeled exactly or you could never move figures through them etc.
Urban terrain is the same way. What I found here is that at this scale the ground distance is slightly skewed. If you build a street the absolute correct size many of your stands won’t fit. Not to mention the fact that in the real world we don’t move on stands.

On a similar subject I'd been thinking of using Google Map prints of built-up areas to scale to show how small houses and streets are in this scale, and then just using the 3D buildings as 'indicators' of built-up areas.
At a typical tabletop scale of 1":50m a typical Brit/European house is only 1/10th" wide (~5m, and that's a big house in UK)
So a whole street is maybe 2-inches long, and only 1/10th" wide etc.
A GHQ tank model would therefore cover an entire disctrict at 1":50m .
