Can someone point me to a picture or drawing of Pola?

As to aircraft... perhaps I'm wrong, but in 1/2400 how much difference is there between an A7 and a F8?

8 feet in length so the F8 would be 1 millimeter longer and a wingspan of less than one half millimeter less.

Given the medium, metal castings from rubber molds I'm not sure that the difference can be accurately modeled.

Yes there are other differences but can they be modeled on an aircraft that is 7 millimeters in length for one and 6 for the other?

HI Dragon6,

There are quite a few differences to the F8-E Crusader and the A7 Corsair. The tail on the Crusader Stands straiter, The jet exhaust is also longer, and the tail fins are shorter. Also the air intake on the Crusader is more squat than that of the Corsair. The Crusader is also 8 feet longer and has a wingspan 3 feet wider then the Corsair.

They may generally look the same, but that is like saying the F14 Tomcat, and the F15 Strike Eagle look the same so why make the F15 when a Tomcat will do.

Well that me for now, happy painting everyone,

I agree there are enough differences that both should be made but I would be happy if either were made.

I would also like to see an EA-6B instead of using an A-6 with a blob on its tail.

This page on the Warships of WW2 site ( http://warships.web4u.cz/staty.php?language=E ) has a picture of Pola and a line drawing of Zara:

This Wikipedia page has a picture of Isuzu after conversion to an antiaircraft cruiser:

One more for you Dragon6,

You will find pictures of a completed and painted 1:350 scale model of the Pola at this address below.

http://www.modelshipgallery.com/gallery ... index.html

You will also find pictures of her sister ship the Zara on the same site.

Hope this helps you,

Yes there are differences. As you say 8 feet of length, which translates to a 1 millimeter difference in model length between an A7 and a F8 and less than one half of one millimeter in wing span. The differences in tail assemblies and air intakes is so insignificant, in scale, that I don't think you can even SEE it in 1/2400.

But then again my eyesight isn't what is was, or ever was

As I said before given the medium, rubber molds and cast metal models, these differences are certainly well within the margin of error.

However, should GHQ be willing to make two different models, it's certainly OK with me.

Thank you Darryl for the link you sent. And thank you SeaHarrier2006 for the link to the model. It very much made it clearer.

One things for certain, it will be interesting to se what aircraft the put tin the 4 new packs they are releasing this year, even though they will be WW2 aircraft.

Glad to be of help on the Italien Cruiser Pola for you as well Dragon :). I have found that website very useful to seeing what other people have done when making their models.

Cheers for now,

2008-2009 Consolidated Micronaut Wish List Summary

I will attempt to update this summary occasionally. The sequence is based on number of mentions, era (WW I, WW II or modern), country and name. As of 2007-09-04, the summary is:

I think that the modern British County class DDG's and the Fearless have gotten quite a few votes this past year but they may not have all appeared in this thread.

The County and Fearless are also available from another vendor.

cbovill is correct in stating that the County class DDGs and Fearless have been mentioned several times over the last year in other threads. However, I restricted the list I posted to submissions in this thread, which started just this summer. I thought that this would be reasonable considering the variety of threads that have some mention of ships. The idea of this thread is to lobby GHQ for what their customers want in the next round of new releases.

Up to now, WW II ships seem to dominate the wish lists, but if people post more requests for modern or WW I ships, their listings will be reflected in updated summaries.

Don,

If the idea of this thread is to lobby GHQ shouldn't it take into account what is already out there being produced by other companies? Sure the others might not have the detail we all come to expect from GHQ but does anyone really need another company producing ship XYZ?

In my personal wish lists I do take into account that certain ships have been produced by other vendors. I would hope that other people do the same. However, my summary is just that - a summary of what everyone has posted. I have not tried to edit other's wish list based on my own criteria.

Also note that many of the people who post in this forum believe that the quality of GHQ products is superior to that of other vendors. Several of the ships in my wish list dozen are produced by other manufacturers. In fact, I have some of these already, but would readily buy a GHQ version to replace them.

It's perfectly proper for you to point out that a suggested ship is already produced by someone else, but I don't think this justifies removing it from the list.

By the way, I don't have a list of your wishes in this thread. What would you like to see in the 2008-2009 Micronauts releases?

Don,

Okay I see your point. As far as my wishes go if you've data mined the other threads then you probably have what I would ask for already, but here goes:

1. Argentine Falklands aircraft pack.
2. HMS Fearless - being met by another vendor I just mention it for completeness.
3. County class DD/DDG - again already met by another vendor.
4. NATO aircraft pack.
5. Soviet land based fighter pack.
6. Cold War USN airwing aircraft pack.
7. PLAN Luhai class DDG
8. PLAN Luhu class DDG
9. RN Type 45 DDG
10. RN Leander class FF- again already met by another vendor.
11. HMS Ocean would be my next pick since three of my top 10 needs have been met.
12. PLAN Jiangwei II
13. PLAN Jianghu III
